Best Asian | Single Best Lunch– SA PA
92 Bedford St. Boston, MA 02111
Some would call SA PA an authentic Vietnamese restaurant but owner Ky Nguyen wouldn’t. That’s because his menu was designed to combine Vietnamese flavors and French cooking styles with an eye on what would satisfy and excite American palates. The result is a very popular noodle soup that’s earned SA PA the Single Best Lunch award three years in a row. According to Nguyen, pho with BBQ pork is one of their best sellers. But don’t worry vegetarians; SA PA also prepares veggie broth that can be topped with tofu, fresh cilantro, pickled carrots, daikon cucumbers, fried shallots, and peanuts.
Best Mexican – Brothers Restaurant
404 Harvard St. Brookline, MA 02446
Brothers Restaurant was founded by two career chefs who wanted to create something of their own: an inventive menu of New American food with a Latin twist. For Fooda audiences, they serve up crowd-pleasing tacos filled with chipotle chicken, Korean short ribs, or roasted vegetables. Each one is served with mixed Napa cabbage, pico de gallo, guacamole, cheddar cheese, and chipotle sauce.
Best BBQ – Shed’s BBQ
32 Bromfield Street Boston, MA 02108
Brother-and-sister Edward and Shawn Wilson learned the low-and-slow art of Texas-style BBQ from their grandmother. And lucky for us, they brought all that nummy knowhow to Boston in the form of smoked brisket, pork ribs, chicken wings, and pulled pork that would make their grandma proud. Southern sides such as fried pickles and cornbread round out the menu, which also includes lighter dishes filled with vegetables and grains.
Fresh and flavorful, light but still hardy, the menu at Pita is sure to satisfy. Customer favorites include the Mediterranean Plate with shawarma or falafel served alongside rice and salad. If you can’t decide what to order, the sampler gives you a taste of everything: hummus, tabouli, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, cucumber tomato salad, and pita bread.
