Name: Andrew Kron
Hometown: Paradise Valley, Arizona
How long with Fooda: May 27th 2014
Job Title: Senior Market Operations Coordinator
What do you really do?
Andrew works closely with the Fooda Select product. Select is like a virtual cafeteria that allows users to select their lunch from an online portal and have it delivered directly to their office in time for lunch. Sounds simple right? Well, Andrew is the reason why! Every day hundreds and hundreds lunches are ordered in Chicago, Andrew manages all the logistics; everything from food pickup and drop off, delivery routes and customer deliveries. According to Andrew, “the strategizing that goes into the delivery system is intense.”
What is the most challenging part of your job?
“The hours between 9 AM and 12 PM when the Select wheels are in motion. Anything can happen. We are ready for everything so that lunch deliveries run as smoothly as possible.”
When Chicago was recently hit with a massive snowstorm on Super Bowl Sunday, Andrew was at his computer trying to figure out which Fooda drivers were going to be in and which were going to be out. By the next morning eight or nine drivers were unable to drive and deliver food so Andrew, Fooda COO Jason Stulberg, and seven other Fooda employees (with 4-wheel drive) all pitched in to make the deliveries for the day!
What is your favorite thing about working at Fooda:
“That I get a “free” (subsidized) fruit salad every day.” Andrew orders fruit salad (his favorite snack) from Fooda partners daily; right now he craves the fruit salad from one of our newest partners in Chicago, Foodease.
Favorite restaurant partner:
“I think it has to be Wicker Basket Cafe. They joined the Select program in the fall and have knocked it out of the park with their preparation and on-time delivery.”
Favorite ice cream flavor:
“I am lactose intolerant. But if I had to choose it would be the non-dairy cherry chocolate chip ice cream from Trader Joe’s or a good piece of carrot cake.”
Favorite Karaoke Song::
“I’ve never done karaoke in my life” (someone get this kid to a karaoke bar stat!)
